2018 Anglican Social Justice Awards Night

The Social Responsibilities Commission is excited to announce the inaugural Social Justice Awards.

2018 Anglican Social Justice AwardsThese awards honour parishes, agencies and individuals who work for justice within Western Australia. We are honoured to be able to name our Lifetime Achievement award after Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu. This award honours a person who has demonstrated ongoing leadership and/or commitment in the advancement of social justice and has made significant contributions to social justice.

Other awards include:

  • The Practical Parish Award, honouring a parish that models social justice through its actions, policies and engagement with the community;
  • The Young Advocate Award,  given to a person under the age of 35 who has made demonstrable contributions towards social justice activism and efforts in the past year;
  • The Research and Advocacy Award which recognises agencies whose work in the social justice arena has been of great benefit to the community; and
  • The Social Justice Communications Award, honouring an outstanding individual or team whose communications have helped strengthen social justice awareness, advocacy, and/or action. This can include specific news stories or social media campaigns.

The Awards presentation night will take place at 6:30pm on Thursday 1st March, 2018 at the Auditorium of the City of Perth Library, 573 Hay Street, Perth.

Applications close 15 February 2018 and are open to anyone in Western Australia.
